DESCRIPTION

The principal objectives of the course are to give the student an insight into the main aspects emanating from the business of a motor trader. We have broken the course down into a number of sections dealing with the various aspects of the motor trade operation from the perspective of the insurance industry. It involves a brief look at the background of motor trading, its history and the various occupations within it.

It is recommended that the student completes the various courses relating to the physical risks such as property damage, business interruption, and theft etc as they will discuss in more detail the general aspects around the risks that are not motor trade specific.

OBJECTIVES

At the end of the course you will be able to:

  • Demonstrate an understanding of underwriting considerations
  • Explain the basic cover provided
  • Detail extensions to cover that may be available
  • Explain what policy exclusions and conditions may exist
