DESCRIPTION
The course considers the physical aspects of non-standard household risks. It will be of interest to those familiar with home insurance already who wish to learn about cover available for non-standard risks. By the end of the course the learner will have an understanding of why placing non-standard risks can be difficult and why insurers often are unable to accommodate such risks. The course also covers traditional underwriting compared to computer underwriting.
OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this course, the learner will:
- Understand the requirements of home insurance underwriters in their assessment of adverse physical aspect of home insurance risks
- Have an understanding of placing non-standard risks and the difficulties therein
- Have knowledge of traditional underwriting methods versus computer underwriting
